My Top 5 Travel Apps

Hey Explorers!!! I hope all is well! I’m here today to bring to you my top five and (obviously my) favorite travel apps! I use these apps to either assist my in planning my trip or to carry with me throughout my trip. I do use quite a few apps but these are irreplaceable.

Oh, before we get started be sure to subscribe to my newsletter! If you are already subscribed, thank you for your support! If not, click on SUBSCRIBE so you can receive travel deals, updates, contests and more to your inbox!!!

Now that is out of the way...let’s talk about these travel apps! Please note, these are in no particular order of importance and I’m not sponsored by any of these apps. I’m providing my honest opinion of these apps just for you!

Viator

I love this app as it gets you in touch with local tour companies around the world! Want tickets

to the local Hop On Hop Off bus in Ireland? You can book it here! What about airport transfers to and from SYD airport? They got it! Oh and of course they have rain forest tours available to book in Costa Rica all at your fingertips! Once you book, they provide you with a voucher (that you can store on your phone) and your local contact’s information. I’ve booked plenty of tours and transportation through here and do not plan to stop!

- Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viator.mobile.android&hl=en_US

- iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/viator-tours-activities/id434832826?mt=8

Momondo

This is one of my favorite flight tracker apps (but not my only one)! I prefer this app as it tracks all

airlines including the major ones such as Delta to the budget airlines around the world. Just as with any flight tracker, I set up alerts through this app. It’s great because as soon as I start thinking of a trip, I input the details to watch prices.

Download the app here:

- Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.momondo.flightsearch&hl=en_US

- iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rome-travel-guide-map-momondo-places/id953044886?mt=8

Google Translate

Are you visiting a country where you don't speak any of the languages? If so, this is a must have!

This app holds 100 different languages and is very convenient to help you get through transactions. In the small town of Horizontina, Brazil, I had a problem with ants in my hotel room. And since I don’t speak Portuguese and the front desk attendant didn’t speak English, I went downstairs with my Google translate app to explain the issue. They ended up spraying the room and moving me to another unit!

Download the app here:

- Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.translate&26hl=en

- iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google-translate/id414706506?mt=8

Google Maps

This is an absolutely necessary app so you know where you are at and where to go at all times! I’ve

mentioned this app in a few of my blogs/vlogs as I live by it! I download the map of the area I’m visiting before I arrive so I’m able to track my whereabouts at all times! You may never know where your taxi driver is taking you just like my Porte Alegre experience!

Download the app here:

- Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.maps&hl=en_US

- iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google-maps-transit-food/id585027354?mt=8

Trip It

This is a great app for organizing everything for your trip! You can forward your flight and hotel bookings to them and they will load it into the app. Then you can add everything into your itinerary and share with others. Or allow others to add to it! That reminds me, let me start building for Ireland...

Download the app here:

- Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tripit&hl=en_US

- iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tripit-travel-organizer/id311035142?mt=8

Honorable Mention: TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor deserves an honorable mention as I do use it a lot to pick out things to do for a trip. I could be on location and want to find something else, I pick up the app, find what I’m looking for and go! I just did this in Australia as I wanted to find a conservation with kangaroos. I found one, looked up how to get there and went just the second to last day of being there ha!

- iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tripadvisor-hotels-restaurants/id284876795?mt=8
